Executive Team

John Sikes

Chief Executive Officer, CRNA, MBA, ACHE

John Sikes, co-founder of DPI, is a 1994 graduate of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette from which he earned his BSN degree. He earned his Masters from Xavier University in New Orleans while doing anesthesia training at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. In developing DPI, John worked to create a comprehensive platform for both medical facilities and individual healthcare clients designed to increase their overall value consistently over time. His vision for DPI is built upon a personal and professional base of highly disciplined core values and strong determination. He brings those personal and professional traits to the service of DPI’s customers.

Jeff LeBlanc

Co-founder and Chief CRNA, CRNA, MSN

DPI co-founder Jeff Leblanc earned his BSN degree from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and received his Masters of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Xavier University/Charity Hospital School of Anesthesia in New Orleans. A practicing registered nurse for 18 years and a nurse anesthetist for 11 years, Jeff is responsible for DPI’s clinical staff operations including recruitment, credentialing, scheduling and client facility management. His high level of familiarity with the efficiencies and benefits of targeted software technology and its application to the healthcare field is brought to the service of DPI clients.

Gerry Pedersen

Chief Marketing Officer, CRNA

Gerry Pedersen, Vice President of Marketing, is a 1985 graduate from the Charity Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia in New Orleans, Louisiana. In addition to his partnership held with DPI, Gerry is an adjunct instructor at Our Lady of The Lake College of Nurse Anesthesia in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a position he has held since 2008. Gerry is a Past-President of the Louisiana Association of Nurse Anesthetists and served on its board for six years. He believes that building relationships with clients, operating room staff and physicians is the key to a strong, mutually beneficial partnership.

Larry G. Hornsby

Chief Strategy Officer, CRNA

Larry Hornsby is a nationally-renown expert on the business of anesthesia and is a highly sought-after resource on the topic. He will be focusing efforts on increasing operational efficiencies, optimizing recruiting and staffing efforts, and new business development for DPI. In addition to working in anesthesia management, Hornsby’s career has been largely focused on professional advocacy. 

After serving in almost every elected position in the Alabama Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA), he served as President of the AANA from 2000-2001 and is most known for his prominent role in negotiating the nationwide supervision opt-out ruling with U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Tommy Thompson. Hornsby received the AANA’s highest honor, the Agatha Hodgins Award for Outstanding Accomplishment, in 2013. In 2016, he received the Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award from his alma mater, the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing.

Scott Gardiner

Chief Medical Officer, MD

Scott Gardiner, MD, is Chief Medical Officer for Diversified Professionals, Inc. In this role, he is a key member of DPI’s senior executive team and is primarily responsible for leading the overall clinical vision for the organization and providing medical oversight. Dr. Gardiner’s leadership and expertise ensure the delivery of high quality services and the implementation of innovative clinical programs at every partner facility. 

As an anesthesiologist, he is passionate about regional anesthesia and acute, outpatient pain management focused on avoiding the need for narcotics perioperatively through multimodal approaches. Dr. Gardiner earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center – New Orleans and completed his training in Anesthesiology at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, where he was chief resident in his final year. Prior to attending medical school, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from LSU. Dr. Gardiner has served as Medical Director at Tulane Lakeside Hospital and has been the Medical Director at Orthopedic Surgery Center (OSC). He is a consultant anesthesiologist with Lane Regional Medical Center and also serves as a mentor to nurse anesthesia students from Our Lady of the Lakes College and Texas Christian University Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences who are in clinical rotations at OSC. He is responsible for the coordination of all anesthesia-related services at OSC, including serving as a liaison between the surgery center administration and the surgeons.

Madison Mulkey

Chief Operating Officer, JD, ACHE

Madison Mulkey serves as the Director of Operations for DPI, where he oversees functional operations of all anesthesia care models from full service to Anesthesia on Demand. Madison graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1996. With over 20 years of experience in both large and small companies, he has served many leadership roles. Among those are providing the vision and decisive leadership for startup, turnaround and emerging companies with full P&L management responsibilities. 

He is skilled at building corporate infrastructures and establishing operating controls that facilitate smooth operations during periods of significant growth and change. His expertise consists of integrating emerging technologies and operational systems/processes to solve complex business problems. He has a long track record for developing high-performance executive teams, making effective decisions under unfavorable conditions, and quickly revising tactics to achieve goals within aggressive time frames. At DPI, Madison leads the integration of multi-level functions for iMD that streamlines processes for RCM clients and makes the business scalable to seamlessly integrate new clients. Madison is also responsible for Integrating processes from corporate operations into the workflow of the Treose software to take advantage of DPI’s technological platform to speed the processes and increase efficiencies for practice management and RCM clients across many specialties. Madison also leads the structural setup and maintenance of the DPI Pain practice operations, including practice management and facility coordination. He oversees all contract negotiation and compliance within the ever-changing healthcare arena.

Bobby Johnson

Chief Financial Officer

Bobby Johnson is DPI’s director of finance. He is a dynamic finance professional specializing in the service industry with a proven track record of organizational improvement. As the director of finance, Bobby is charged with establishing and maintaining a robust and profitable financial model. As a strategic thought partner on the senior leadership team, he assists in planning and operational decision-making. Bobby has a unique operational background and skill set.

Prior to joining DPI in April of 2014, Bobby worked for a geographically diversified oil and gas services company. From 2006, Bobby served as an accounting supervisor, and then in 2012, he transitioned into the position of director of operations for the Offshore Plug and Abandonment business unit. The division had over 175 employees and revenues in excess of $40 million.

From 2001 to 2006, Bobby worked with Emeril’s Homebase, the management company for Emeril’s Restaurants. During his tenure there, he served in positions of increasing responsibility from Business Manager to Finance Manager.

Bobby received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of New Orleans in May of 1998. He received his Louisiana CPA designation in September 2000.
